FootballCritter is a collection of the crispiest critters with a weekly competition.🍗 ⚽️ It is Fantasy Football meets NFTs.
Learn more about the scoring, the multipliers, and the rules for each position (goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, forwards).
Football is skin deep here at footballcritter. It was chosen for a few reasons: Football is the world’s game. It is the one universal language. Web3 is the first real chance for global proficiency in one industry at one time. Geoff has been creating football based imagery for the last 7 years. All three of these combine into the ‘skin’ of choice for footballcritter.
Each critter has, baked into the metadata, an animal base, a position, and a ‘team’ that it plays for. The ‘teams’ correlate to existing NFT projects. Depending on how the NFT projects perform in the market (ETH movement, unique number of holders, sale prices etc.) affect the score of the individual critters. Users have the chance to set their lineup (a goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward) to create their own squad. Each week your squad will have a unique score.
Set your lineup - we do the rest. The team your critter plays for will earn points and then that total will be multiplied based on the critter's tier, position and more. Learn more about the scoring, the multipliers, and the rules for each position (goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, forwards).
In the football world your kit is your jersey. Every critter is wearing a kit (and has a kit trait). The kits represent the NFT project that the critter is playing for.
Footballcritter is not about tracking the biggest/ most expensive projects. Instead, footballcritter is a chance to see what is happening across a greater range of the market. We chose the big projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club and Doodles and also included smaller projects like CryptoRayRays and CryptoonGoonz to showcase more breadth across the platform of NFTs.
To keep the competition fair, we’ve decided to run the scoring on the delta/percentage change from week to week. In this way, CryptoRayRays can compete with BAYC and Doodles. In the future, each week we will run a VRF call that randomizes a few different aspects of the competition. There are 20 animals in footballcritter - the randomized number will choose which animals are ‘hot’ or have an extra multiplier on their score, and which are ‘injured’.
You do not need NFTs to play the competition but you do need to own one to be eligible for the prizes. When the competition opens you will get a set of offchain-assets known as "Academy Critters". You can mix these cards into your lineup. As long as you have one on-chain NFT in your lineup you will you will be eligible to win that week.
